We, the undersigned movements and organizations, stand united in opposition to the ongoing illegal transfers of military supplies to Israel that enable its ongoing genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza, the brutal attacks and ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank, and its regime of settler-colonial apartheid against all Palestinians.

We call for urgent action to mobilize against the current shipment of  F-35 supply chain equipment or other military materiel (including dual-use items) carried by a Maersk ship from the Lockheed Martin-operated US Air Force Plant 4 in Fort Worth, Texas to the Nevatim air base. This base is home to the Israeli air force fleet that is waging a genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people in Gaza as well as other people in the Arab region. The former facility is the prime contractor in the international consortium that produces F-35 jets; the latter specializes in supply chain production, maintenance, and repair of Israeli F-35I's.

We call on all movements, organizations, individuals, and workers to: 

• Pressure Maersk to immediately end all transportation of military cargo to the Israeli Ministry of Defense , and other cargo that may aid or assist Israeli war crimes and genocide.

• Mobilize pressure on the Moroccan authorities to deny Maersk Detroit and Nexoe Maersk entry into Moroccan ports and to end all participation in the transshipment of military cargo destined for the Israeli army. Facilitating these shipments makes Morocco complicit in genocide violating the clear will of the Moroccan people, who overwhelmingly reject normalization, and the growing international consensus against arms transfers to Israel.

• Mobilize popular mobilizations at the ports of transit of the Maersk Detroit and the Nexoe Maersk.

• Pressure governments, port authorities, and logistics companies to stop enabling the flow of weapons to Israel and all complicity in the transfer of military and other cargo that aid or assist Israeli atrocity crimes

The vessel carrying these parts (the Maersk Detroit) arrived at the Port of Houston and departed on Saturday, April 5. It is currently on the way to the Port of Norfolk, Virginia, and then the port of Elizabeth, New Jersey, before crossing the Atlantic. It will then arrive at the Port of Tangier Med and will unload its cargo for transshipment onto another Maersk vessel (Nexoe Maersk), which will then head to Mersin, Turkey, and then to Haifa.

We amplify the overwhelming majority of Palestinian Trade Unions that have called on workers around the world to take action to escalate #BlocktheBoat and #MaskOffMaersk campaigns, and stop the illegal shipments that enable Israeli atrocity crimes. We also echo the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions of Gaza, who have called on workers around the world to take action to stop the flow of weapons to Israel.

We call on trade unions to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to protect workers in the ports, on the vessels, in the companies, and in the government offices from involvement in criminal transfers, most often without their knowledge and/or consent. 

We urge unions, port workers, and civil society organizations to organize against their governments’ shameful normalization and complicity.

This is the moment to resist the US-Israeli attacks on the Palestinian struggle. We must escalate action and make it clear that the people reject normalization and complicity in genocide as a betrayal of the Palestinian liberation struggle.
